ASERC Hosts Maiden Engagement with EEDC Under New Regulatory Framework

On 29 October 2025, the Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ASERC) held its first official interface with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC). During the engagement, EEDC formally introduced First Power Electricity Distribution Company Limited (FPEDCL) as its designated subsidiary responsible for electricity distribution operations within Anambra State.

The session marked a major milestone in the transition to the State’s independent electricity regulatory regime. ASERC provided clarity on:

• Regulatory compliance expectations
• Operational boundaries within Anambra State
• Transition procedures under the new oversight structure

This foundational engagement set the tone for future regulator–operator cooperation as the State implements its electricity market reforms.
